Dan is a good friend of mine, and ever since he moved to Charlotte, I haven't seen much of him. The last time I visited him was over six months ago, and it was surely a crazy time. It's a two hour drive to get to where he lives. I never drive for more than 45 minutes away from my house, so this was a new experience. A new experience that involved my first speeding ticket. On my birthday. Yeah. It's safe to say that I wasn't too excited about the prospect of driving a long distance and being stressed about the highway and the really, really strict North Carolina police. But I went anyway. And basically got lost in downtown Charlotte. My gps took me everywhere, even into a strict no-car zone. I called and called Dan, but he was asleep. In the afternoon. The modeling life is tough, you know? I finally got a hold of him and drove and extra hour to get to his sisters house. They fed me, so the struggle was worth it :)
Afterward, we went out to scout some places for a photo shoot. The sun was setting slowly, and we were rushing to find any place before darkness settled. We hit jackpot at a construction site (that was halted at the moment) and a building covered in glass panes. That beautiful sunset was reflected into melted gold. Dan got right out by the road with his Sprezza Box that never leaves his car, and his perfect hair that makes grown humans weep. It was a bit nerve wracking to have cars drive by at high speeds, but as we got more into the shoot, we kind of ignored it.
The construction site was a good idea. I don't normally go out alone to do crazy things, but Dan gets me out of my comfort zone and as a result, I have photographed many beautiful pictures. Cheers to getting out of your comfort zone and living a little.
